I would have thought of Eormer. I guess this is the longest poem so far turned into a riddle! It sounds very nice. You, Beth, always put heart and soul in your riddles.

It is the one and only Eomer! There were no guesses so I thought I would give the obvious hint that it wasn't Aragorn because certain things could refer to Aragorn and the first guess is usually Aragorn. Thought I might jump start the game again, lol!
Good guess John, your turn again!

^ That looks beautiful, but it would hardly be a riddle to have our poems posted in this manner. :) Also thank you for your words, Beth (words that disappeared from your post). I'll go on and post a riddle. I'm sorry it takes so long, but I'm usually out of inspiration when it is my turn. Slayer of kings, I fly on wings of terror; Fearless in battle, with my weapons deadly, And my escort besides me, I march on. Many have died by my axe, But doom comes back to its maker: My fire was quenched on the hard rock.

I wouldn't post a riddle like this, lol, I put it up afterward for fun.
Yes, I did change my post and didn't repost my words, didn't I? Your kind words are appreciated and give me inspiration to become more creative!

You're welcome. I'm still waiting for the answer to my riddle. I don't think it is that hard, though I tried to leave out as much as possible.

Indeed! The kings he slew are Feanor and Fingon, and the 'hard rock' is actually the Hidden Rock, Gondolin. Your turn.

I've seen the darkness, I've seen the Light, The waters of awakening, And love at first sight.
I've seen many Ages, Trees of silver and gold, The faces of the gods, And a man quite bold.
The Powers called us And I longed to go. But, enchanted, I paused A moment... or ages... I do not know.
I lingered a lifetime in the dark land Sheltered from evil at first. Ages of beauty and immortal love, Ended because of a Jewel that was cursed.
Anger and greed ended the bliss And all that I loved was lost. Then again to Valinor, the Timeless Halls, To ponder forever the Jewel and its cost.

The waters flow swiftly, They run underground, A shore they wash that was not to be found; They break upon an isle that many horrors has seen, They flow in the sea where hopes are reborn. An unusual character...

It sounds like the great River Sirion unless you are referring to a more specific part of it.

Don't worry, take your time. Too bad no one else jumped in for a very long time.

I wish some others would guess!
Though his eyes I see it Tho' I am not there.
Though his heart I feel it Tho' it's too much to bear.
Lord I was but now I'm slave To his evil curse.
My kin doomed to fail and die, Hope just makes it worse.
Death on the field would have been A blessing to them all.
Now for years I sit here chained Doomed to watch them fall.
Then at last I am released Too late to give them aid.
All our deaths the only way To end this dark charade.

Beth, you made that too easy! I will however not give you the answer (at least what I think to be the answer): weekends often get more of the members here, so perhaps until Monday someone else will guess. It's getting tiresome to 'pass the ball' between the two of us.

It is easy! Maybe someone else will jump in. Maybe we spend too much time here, lol. At least it's someone else's turn to think! (Get started on one for now or later.)
