I am asking people here to consider taking one minute to sign this online petition to stop E.A. from shutting down the online servers for LOTR Conquest. Currently the petition has 650 signatures. If we reach 1,000 by March 16th we have been told that the servers will be kept open. I understand that most of you don’t play this game, couldn’t care less about it and maybe even dislike it, but there is a small, dedicated community of us that are sad to see our favourite game close down (imagine how you would feel if it was happening to a game you love). Conquest has only been out for 14 months and we feel that online services should not be closed down so soon. It would set a bad precedent for future games. If you could take a few seconds out of your day to sign this petition, you would be making an entire community of us Conquest nerds happy! Sincerest thanks for your kind generosity. Please help save The Shire! Here is the petition: LotrC - Save the online gaming Petition

I also signed, though I do not play this game, nor do I much care about LotR-inspired games. However I completely understand how it feels to have a community shut down because I experienced it on a forum I once was part of. Mine was the 837th signature. Good luck with your petition, and hopefully you won't be closed down.

Looks like you guys got your 1,000 signatures. With 5 days to spare too.
Mine was over the 1K mark ;)
Though... given how much trouble EA is currently having in their server farm, not sure they'll stick to their word on this one.

I put my signature up too. I hadn't heard of it, but it looks quite good... So you're safe on this one?

Well, really I agree to Velmeran. I don't know to what extent a petition is going to stop someone (in this case Electronic Arts) from doing what they intended to, because these people are dedicated but do not bring money... It'd be interesting to check the link posted by SORMayhem later and see if it still is up.
