I had a strange dream tonight...

At a certain point I ended up in a bookstore (I can't remember anything before that) and I was browsing around. Then I came across a rack that had only Tolkien books in it (and by coincidence all in the edition my current books are in), so I looked around and took out everything that I didn't have yet.
Suddenly I saw a big heap of a book called The Story of Númenor, or something like that. I can't remember the actual title, but it seemed to suggest a 'detail-story', one like The Mariner's Wife in UT for example, and it contained something about Númenor.
When I headed for the cash register, I was suddenly taken by the arm by someone I know (again, I don't remember who) and taken back to the rack of Tolkien books and told to put the Númenor one back.
When I did this, the dream seemed to 'zoom in' on the cover of the book, and then suddenly it shifted to an image of an old person that I recognised as J.R.R. Tolkien himself laughing in insanity.

That's all I remember, and I might have gotten some thing wrong, but it's one of the strangest dreams I've had so far.

its is amazing what things the human mind can conjure. Dreams are a strange things....

Gil-galad was an Elven-king.
Of him the harpers sadly sing:
the last whose realm was fair and free
between the Mountains and the Sea.

His sword was long, his lance was keen,
his shining helm afar was seen;
the countless stars of heaven's field
were mirrored in his silver shield.

But long ago he rode away,
and where he dwelleth none can say;
for into darkness fell his star
in Mordor where the shadows are.

That would be great, whitefox! I do believe in dreams with symbolic meanings; I think it's a way for your mind to process emotions and experiences and to get messages of what you need to do into your subconscious.

I'm sorry too Tourin :( I had the feeling it was a very good and rare book.

I once had a dream that I found a book that detailed the culture of the Calormenes (Chronicles of Narnia) and I thought it was really cool. That's sort of the same, but not as strange.

"To many,... past and present, 'Celtic' of any sort is,... a magic bag, into which anything may be put, and out of which almost anything may come... Anything is possible in the fabulous Celtic twilight, which is not so much a twilight of the gods as of the reason."

It would be cool to see a Numernor book out.

I must confess, it was I who grabbed your arm, Ranak. I wanted you to put the book back on the shelf because Iwanted to buy it myself.
Brilliance and insanity are closely related (and now you know how very smart I must be!). Perhaps that's why you saw that image of Tolkien....or maybe you're very smart as well!

I haven't tried that yet rittensor :). Ranak, your dream was quite compounded... Anyway I do not believe that dreams have a sort of special meaning.

I believe that your dream means that you'd best not get in my way if there is one special Tolkien book on the shelf, ranak. But I believe that you had an idea about that.

As I knew you would, Ranak. Things get serious when Tolkien's works are concerned!

Though if there were two copies, I'd share.Angel
